Our kōrero

Kāteao is a boutique consultancy specialising in Māori strategy, translation, and cultural capability, capacity, and competency building. ‘Kāteao’ means to inspire the world - ‘kā’ means to ‘ignite ‘or ‘inspire’ and ‘te ao’ is the Māori translation for ‘the world’. Our brand also represents ‘Kate’ who is the name of our mum who passed away and we want to carry her in all our professional engagements. The ‘koru’ design represents a child in the womb of a mother who would give genuine ‘manaakitanga’ or care for everyone. This narrative informs our work approach and the nurturing environment we want to create for all those we work with.
